Esthetics Course
A skin care course familiarizes students with skin care products and skin analysis while offering practical experience in tweezing and facial massage, among other skin care techniques. Students learn to perform basic facials and apply makeup.
Topics such as client consultation and professional ethics may also be covered.
COURSE CHARACTERISTICS
Esthetics Course
Techniques for giving facials are explored in this course, with students gaining hands-on experience. While building on the basics learned in introductory classes, students learn to identify the best products and treatments for different skin types. Students also learn to identify skin disorders best treated through facials and other types of skin care. Hands-on experience also includes applying cosmetics to people with various skin type.
Skin History
This history course covers various skin care techniques used in the past. Students read about techniques used in different cultures and time periods, as well different definitions of beauty throughout history. How technology has changed and improved skin care and makeup procedures are often explored.
